Biomass Power Generation Conference & Exhibition

Realizing cost savings and huge new revenues from turning biomass waste products into thermal and electrical energy

The Biomass Power Generation Brazil conference was a great success. The plenary session saw a full double room, as 300 people witnessed the 4 keynote sessions where Jose Anibal announced some major support for green energy in São Paulo, Ozires Silva compelled the industry to think about the engines we use as well as the fuel we burn in them, Pedro Moura Costa gave some further details regarding the BVRio Exchange and Bernardo Gradin outlined in depth the plans of Graal Bio, the first commercial level next generation ethanol producers in the Southern Hemisphere. This was followed by the CEO panel which was a major conference highlight, drawing fascinating debate between some of the leading CEOs and Presidents involved in Brazilian sugar and ethanol. It was great to see a panel discussion where participants had such diverse views and were bold enough to air their contrasting views and debate them openly and frankly.

With nearly 400 attendees across the 2 days, networking in the exhibition room was buzzing. The breakout sessions on Biomass Power Generation were lively and extremely informative and in the main biofuels conference, the advanced biofuels scene in both Brazil and beyond was debated at length with some extremely promising technologies presented the could be commercialised using Brazilian grown feedstocks.
